Connecticut Campus Compact (CTCC) is a coalition of Connecticut college and university presidents committed to promoting the civic mission and purpose of higher education. CTCC member campuses seek to involve students, faculty, and entire campus communities in meaningful service in order to fulfill higher education’s most noble goals of educating citizens, preparing tomorrow’s leaders, and contributing to the life of communities across the globe.

CTCC supports the integration of community service into the academic and co-curricular cultures of its member campuses by:

  • Sponsoring faculty and professional development
  • Facilitating collaborations and networking opportunities
  • Connecting members with capacity-building resources
  • Engaging in advocacy
  • Raising public awareness

Through several programs, Connecticut Campus Compact also offers direct support to its members. This includes:

  • A minigrants program
  • A recently piloted AmeriCorps VISTA program
  • Training for facilitators to offer civic reflection according to the Project on Civic Reflection’s model (starting in Spring 2009).

We also convene regular networking meetings for community service and service-learning directors to share best practices and discuss emerging issues in service-learning and civic education. We continually seek input from our members for professional development ideas, and keep our members aware of national and statewide opportunities.

Connecticut Campus Compact presently has 19 members, represented by community colleges as well as public and private four-year institutions. Our offices are located at Fairfield University, whose president, Jeffrey von Arx, S.J., serves as chairperson of the board.
